Dr. Eric Schwarz brings nearly 35 years of experience across both academia and the sport industry. He began his career specializing in facility and event management, working as a consultant on the design and construction of sport facilities while also developing operational systems, human resource frameworks, and programming strategies. His professional experience includes facility scheduling, special event management, and campus recreation programming for a wide range of sport organizations. During his time teaching at Saint Leo University in Florida, Eric also led students on several Sports Travel Academy programs, including study abroad experiences in Australia—further strengthening his commitment to experiential, global learning in sport management education.

Originally from the United States, Eric married an Australian and relocated to Australia over a decade ago. Since then, he has built an impressive academic career, most recently serving as a Senior Lecturer in Sport Management and Chair of Postgraduate Courses in Sport Business and Integrity at Victoria University in Melbourne. Over the past 25 years, he has taught and contributed to sport business education globally, with experience spanning the United States, Australia, Spain, and China.

Eric is also a highly regarded scholar and author in the field of sport business management. He has published three leading textbooks: Advanced Theory and Practice in Sport Marketing (4 editions), Sport Facility Operations Management – A Global Perspective (4 editions), and Managing Sport Facilities and Major Events (2nd edition). His combined industry expertise and international academic leadership make him a valuable addition to the Sports Travel Academy team.
